Wednesday was the last teaching day of Go Higher and most of our brilliant students are getting ready to begin their undergraduate degrees in September (after the small issue of getting their assessed assignments in later this month).
We celebrated in lots of ways, and this is a verse penned in response to Go Higher by our very own Paul Smith, who is going on to study arts subjects and achieve great things at Liverpool University and who is pictured here with his son George.

Go Higher

Higher we go,
Leaving friends behind,
Many have fallen,
But those who survived,
Go higher.
Midweek treat,
Confusion and tweed,
Posing the question
what does it mean?
Tell me about it.
Tutors and mentors
Guide mental adventures.
Extensive, enjoyable,
Valuable lessons.
Maths.
Tired and trying to fit it all in,
We spin the plates as we loose our potential,
Knowing, maybe?
Referencing ‘everything’.
Padding out to meet word count,
Whist trying to be succinct,
What I’ve learned?
I think to learn I had to learn to think.
